What Do You See?

Mind Body

Hi Friends!

Can it be that tomorrow is October already?!

I don’t know about you, but it’s been a challenging month! It felt like life was coming at me on all fronts with one challenge after another and it was beginning to wear on me. When difficulties arise it’s often tempting to fall into the “why is this happening to me?” trap.  But in those moments, it’s important to stop and take a moment to recognize that our perception is key.

Instead of, “Why is this happening to me?” we can choose to shift our thinking to “All this is happening for me!”

Perhaps all the challenges we face are opportunities for growth. Each one a divine invitation for expansion.

This lesson may seem obvious but it’s surprisingly difficult to grasp when we need it most.

I’ll give you an example.

I was shopping at a favourite store a week ago, just going about my business, when I was completely ambushed by someone from my past who had hurt me deeply. This person had caught me off guard and the encounter left me shaken. I had been blindsided. Afterward, I sat reflecting on what had happened. Firstly, it was not a coincidence. It was meant to happen and I realized I had a choice of how I was going to respond to the situation. I could get caught up in a “shit-shame-storm” and swirl into a dark dramatic cyclone of fear. Or I could see this as an opportunity for growth, for expansion and chose love.

The key was my perception.

So I sat at my desk with both my journal and my heart open in front of me and I began to write. Why had this happened? What was the purpose and where was the learning? Turns out this was an opportunity for further healing. An opportunity to take my power back from someone who had bullied me. An opportunity to rid myself of residual shame from the situation, and move towards complete forgiveness and freedom.

Sounds easy, but it wasn’t. What it was though, was a divine invitation for growth and expansion and I took it.

I bet you have one, if not a few, divine invitations in your life right now.

When you look at your life in this instant and whatever challenge you may be facing, how are you perceiving it?

Ask yourself:
What is the purpose of this?
Where is the opportunity for healing?
For learning?
For expansion of your soul?

How are you perceiving the situation? How can you shift that perception to serve your growth?

Instead of life happening to you, how is life happening for you?

It’s all about perception. If you believe life to be hard and miserable and that no one loves you … guess what? Life will be hard and miserable and you will block yourself from feeling the love that surrounds you.

If you believe life to be full of amazing and inspiring opportunities for you to grow and expand and love more deeply – it will be.

So where are you being invited by the divine to shift your perception, reclaim sovereignty in your life and grow like crazy?

It’s all about perception.

Perception is a choice.

It’s by shifting our perceptions that we cultivate joy, happiness and peace in our lives.

What will you choose to see?

xo, M
