In The Nest Community this month we’re talking about trust. It’s a topic that’s come up again and again during our coaching calls each month, and it was time to do a deep dive into the subject. During the Masterclass this month, I shared this quote by Albert Einstein – I think it beautifully sums up the most important question we must each ask ourselves when it comes to trust:
“I think the most important question facing humanity is, ‘Is the universe a friendly place?’ This is the first and most basic question all people must answer for themselves.”
“For if we decide that the universe is an unfriendly, hostile place, then we will use our technology, our scientific discoveries and our natural resources to achieve safety and power by creating bigger walls to keep out the unfriendliness and bigger weapons to destroy all that which is unfriendly and I believe that we are getting to a place where technology is powerful enough that we may either completely isolate or destroy ourselves as well in this process.”
“If we decide that the universe is neither friendly nor unfriendly and that God is essentially ‘playing dice with the universe’, then we are simply victims to the random toss of the dice and our lives have no real purpose or meaning.”
“But if we decide that the universe is a friendly place, then we will use our technology, our scientific discoveries and our natural resources to create tools and models for understanding that universe. Because power and safety will come through understanding its workings and its motives.”
“God does not play dice with the universe.” – Albert Einstein
Basically what I believe Einstein is saying here is that it’s our CHOICE: Love or Fear?
Trust requires the belief that the Universe is a friendly place. No matter what’s happening in our life right now, it’s the perfect circumstance our Soul chose for us to grow, find meaning in life and experience fulfillment.
Trust requires that we believe that life is FOR US. So when something challenging happens we TRUST it’s happening to help us grow, not punish us. And we trust that we’ve got the support and resources to help us through – that providence is real.
Trust requires us to unearth the limiting beliefs and conditioning that’s taught us otherwise.
Trust requires FAITH; Being sure of what we hope for and hopeful of what we do not see. This is cultivated over time as we seek to understand and commune with our Soul, God/Universe/Higher Self – whatever language you use to describe the Divine.
Most of all I think trust requires us feeling safe enough to surrender and let go of the need to control, so we can be in true partnership with the Divine and co-create our reality. If we don’t feel safe, we’re sure as heck going to have a hard time surrendering. Am I right?!
I truly believe we’re not victims of our circumstance but more powerful than we realize and choosing to believe that life is FOR us and not against us is an act of sovereignty; one that has the power to change our lives. Not only does it move us from lower frequency emotions like fear, hopelessness and depression, but it moves us into higher frequencies such as love, joy and peace — which translates to greater healing, body, mind and soul.
In this way, trust acts as the bridge between love and fear, and is crucial for the healing journey.
But it’s our CHOICE, we must claim our sovereignty and choose.
What will your choice be?
